Song

Song Collection

The song collection is what you build up over time for your church. You may already have one on another program, which can be imported into Song Vision. Each song usually includes a title, chords and lyrics and can also hold other important information such as the copyright information, authors and the key the song is written in.

Song Editor

Creating and editing songs should be simple to do, and within Song Vision it's a breeze.

Add the song content, select which lines are chords with the flick of a switch, and click save.

Done.

Transposition

Maybe a song isn't in your vocal range, and you want to change the song to another key. You can do this easily by simply selecting a different key from the dropdown list.

Private Songs

When you add a new song to Song Vision, it's initially only visible to you - the user that created it. This allows you to use and edit it outside of the main church catalogue of songs. It's really useful for song writers, who may want to add their own song to Song Vision without everyone being able to see it. It can then easily be made visible to everyone by submitting it... more on that later!

Setlists

A Setlist

In it's simplest form, a setlist is a collection of songs. In Song Vision, you can give the setlist a name, attach a date and band leader to the set, and you can also add as many songs as you like to a setlist, re-order them, add notes to songs for the band to see, and transpose a song to another key simply for that set.

Set-sheets

Once you've got your setlist completed, you'll more than likely need a printable version to hand out to the rest of the team. Song Vision enables you to create a set-sheet that looks exactly how you want it to! It provides a way to drag and drop songs on to A4 pieces of paper, allowing you to overlap songs to save space. You also have simple editing abilities on the songs to perhaps remove a verse that you won't be using, or change a few chords, and of course change font size and type. These edits are limited to the set-sheet, so the main song is not altered.

Projection

Setlist Selection

The main part of a projectionist's role is to select the current song, and display it's lyrics. In Song Vision we've tried to make sure this is as easy as possible by having the set-list, published by the band leader, ready to display on the screen. Simply select the set-list being used, and you'll be presented with all of the songs expected to be used in that session.

Song Selection

If you need to find a single song to display, you can do this by using the various search tools available. You can search by song title, lyrics and author.

Update Set-list

If you need to amend a set-list, you can do that straight from the projection mode. For example, you can add a new song into the set-list, save it, and then end up back at the projection screen ready to go.

Lyric Selection

In Song Vision, selecting lyrics from songs to display on the screen is so simple... Select the song to see the lyrics, click on the lyrics you want to show, and voila!! Simple.

Just click, and there it is, presented exactly how you've set it up.

Backgrounds

As a projectionist, you will be able to add images and videos for use as the background to the song lyrics. All videos will loop automatically.

Animations & Transitions

You can add animation effects to backgrounds and lyrics, so that the changes are more subtle or pleasing to the eye.

Screen Text

There are a full range of configuration options available so that the lyrics appear where you want, and how you want. You can change the font size, colour, line spacing, shadow, vertical alignment, and more.

You can change how footer text appears separately too!

Administration

Users

Users give people access to Song Vision. Depending on the roles assigned to the user, the user will have the ability to do different things within the system. There are no limits to the how many users you can have, but the amount of users you have does change the cost of the subscription.

Roles

Roles define the features and permissions a user has. There are many different features and permissions in Song Vision, giving you the ability to finely tune what different users can do. For example, you can set whether users can just view songs, or whether they can edit them too, however you may not want them to be able to delete songs.

By default there are three roles in the system, Admin, Band Leader and Projection and these roles can't be removed. You can create as many other roles as you like though, and selecting the required permissions is as simple as selecting some check boxes.

CCLI & Copyright Material

Some basic information about your church/organisation is required when you subscribe to Song Vision. CCLI helps with Christian copyright licensing, and most churches use them. If you use their service, please add your CCLI licence number so that it can correctly be displayed and fulfil the requirements of copyright law.

Song Vision does not provide any licensing of copyrighted material. You need to ensure that you have fully complied with copyright law before using this software.

Song Submissions

At Song Vision, we understand that each church handles introducing new songs in a different way. Song Vision allows a 'vetting' procedure where songs can be submitted for use. This way, an authorised user can say whether the song is available to all other users, and can be used on projection.

Archived Songs

If you remove songs from the main church song catalogue, they'll be added to the archived songs list. From this list, a user can choose to add songs back into the main song list, or permanently delete the song. Songs within the archived songs list can't be added to setlists and can only be seen by those with the correct permissions.

Note: If the song has been used within a set-list, the song cannot be deleted permanently.

Authors

Authors/song writers need to be added to Song Vision before they can be connected to a song. Here you can add/edit/remove authors.

Other

The Cloud

Song Vision uses the internet to allow you to use multiple devices. If you log in to Song Vision on a different device, you will find you still have access to your settings, songs and setlists.

Updates

Updates to Song Vision are downloaded automatically in the background while you use it. If an update has been downloaded, you will get a notification.

Broadcast Messages

Sometimes there may be important information that needs to be made known to all of our users across Song Vision. Broadcast messages are what we use to do that. You will see the message appear as a popup notification when it's first broadcast, then will be saved here.
